Wildlife Rescue in League City
Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital Works with Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitation Facilities
While our staff can direct you to a facility that can help injured or sick wildlife, it is important that you DO NOT rescue wildlife for a possible pet. State and federal laws protect nearly all wild mammals and birds. It is against the law to possess the animal or bird, or the nests, feathers, or eggs of a bird, without special permits. Wild animals can also be potentially dangerous, both to you and your property. While dogs and cats have been bred to be companions to humans, wild animals and birds have not.
However, if you have found a sick or injured animal in need of medical attention, call Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital in League City at (281) 506-0766 and we will direct you on what to do.
Facilities Specializing in Wildlife Rescue
Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital (AKPH) works with licensed wildlife rehabilitation facilities that have the knowledge to care for sick or injured wildlife.
Licensed facilities we work with include:
The most common wildlife-related issues include animals that have been hit by cars and trucks, other animals, or humans. A rehabilitation center can care for the injured animal’s broken bones, fractures, internal injuries, and other issues all while aiming to re-release them into their natural habitat when they are healed. They will always do what’s best for the animal, and if the animal or bird cannot be released, the rehabilitation facility can find a properly permitted long-term home that is specifically set up for the animal’s care.
