Preventative Veterinary Care in League City
Happy, Healthy Pets Start with Preventative Medicine
It seems like a fairly obvious statement, but avoiding illness or disease altogether is much better for your pet’s health than needing to treat a disease later. At Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital, we help you keep your pet on the road to good health with our focus on preventative medicine. We want to give your pets the highest quality of life possible.
Elements of Preventative Care
As a standard practice, we recommend that you bring your pet in to see us at least every six months. Regular physical exams help us understand what your pet’s health normally looks like, allowing us to establish a baseline to use for future reference. We’ll be able to compare future test results against this baseline to more quickly pinpoint changes in your pet’s health, getting them a diagnosis and treatment faster.
Preventative care can include:
- Comprehensive physical exams
- Regular blood work
- Parasite prevention
- Spaying or neutering
All of the above services play a different part in protecting your pet’s health. Together, all of these steps are essential to preventing disease and ensuring your pet lives a long, happy, healthy life.
It’s important to us at Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital that we treat your pet while prioritizing their unique characteristics. Our League City veterinarians will take a variety of factors into account when planning out your pet’s preventative health plan. Certain issues, like age, breed, and preexisting conditions, will affect what we recommend for your pet. Cats and dogs need different approaches, and even different breeds of the same species will need different kinds of care. We take our time to understand what you and your pet needs so we can make sure we’re doing everything we can to keep your pets healthy.
We’ll consider the following factors before we make recommendations:
- Activity level
- Preexisting conditions
Different pets have different needs! We’ll help you navigate your pet’s specific health needs as we create a preventative care plan.
Medical Care for Senior Pets
It’s never too late to think about preventative care for your senior pets. As your pet ages, there are many considerations for elderly pets that aren’t necessary for younger ones. In order to make sure your pet lives into their golden years as happily and healthily as possible, we recommend bringing your pet in to see our League City veterinary team to ensure they have the care they need. We’ll help you identify signs that your pet may be struggling so we can intervene early.
